The Last Fanz Standing - Zesty Orange Productions

In my third and final year at university my group and I had to produce a media product that would take 300 hours or longer to produce and create throughout the full year. My group decided to make a fandom quiz television show, as we were all television students and we were all part of fandoms that related to our show. Some of the fandoms include Harry Potter, Doctor Who, Supernatural, Marvel, DC Comics, and The Walking Dead, just to name a few. We decided that 'The Last Fanz Standing' would cater well to Channel 4's E4 channel, therefore we chose their target audience to be our target audience. As there was only four of us in our group, we knew we had to hire other crew members in order to be able to make a professional television show, therefore, we sent adverts out through email and throughout the university, and we got quite a lot of responses back. We also held auditions for the host position. We ended up choosing an actress/comedian to be our host because she had the right mood for the show, was funny, and confident in front of the camera and knew what she was doing (she ended up being a great host on the day). We also hired graphics makers and logo makers for our company and our show, where some of the budget went. The rest of the budget went on props for the set. We were supposed to have two teams of three people, but on the day people dropped out, so we only ended up having two teams of two people, but it worked out in the end. Each team had a buzzer and we had different rounds, such as quick fire rounds, VT and picture rounds, music rounds and general knowledge questions on fandoms and programmes. All in all I think that The Last Fanz Standing was a great success and I would like to thank all of the cast, crew, the host, and anyone else who helped us along the way throughout the year. We would have gotten it done without any of you.

Beth.
